He’s a Seattleite

I cannot believe this day, I think as we walk across the grassy field to the spot where CJ’s t-ball team is warming up for their first game.

Across from us in the distance is Mt. Rainier, snowy white against the clear blue sky.

Birds are chirping and the sun feels so good on my bare arms.

Next to me, CJ is shaking his head and muttering as he walks.

“What did you say?” I ask.

He looks at me and then up at the sky and rolls his eyes before announcing “It is way, way, WAY too hot to play.”

It can’t be more than 65 degrees.

This is how you know you’re raising a Seattleite.
