It only seems fair that if we have to have global warming, we should get to be WARM
February 10, 2009 – 1:09 pmDear President Obama,
I noticed that you’ve allocated several hundred million dollars in the economy stimulus package for researching global warming.
I also couldn’t help but notice that there’s a whole lot of snow and cold and ICE this year. Like even more than last year or the year before that or the previous FOURTY OR SIXTY or maybe even A HUNDRED years.
I’m not a fancy expert or anything, but it’s looking to me like
Global warming = more snow days than you can shake a stick at.
Maybe the scientists could look into that.
It only seems fair that if we have to have global warming, we should get to be WARM.
Sincerely, with much love and adoration (but only the professional kind)
~Bananas

We’ve had much warmer weather than normal. It’s been 75 degrees here and the mosquitos are out in full force! And it’s only FEBRUARY!!!

Well put. I agree. Except the last couple of days here has been warmer, but overall, it’s been a really cold winter.
I still think spring is just teasing us, as it’s going back to the cold over the next two days.

With an 800-plus-billion-dollar stimulus package, you’d think they could squeeze in some extra mittens for everybody, or something.

LMAO! The latest news is that we’re in a cooling trend, not a warming trend… sorry Al Gore.

ROFLMAO that’s what I’m sayin!
One week ago we had over 20 inches of snow dumped on us…and today (one week later, mind you) the snow is melted and it is pouring. IF we are going to have global warming can it please make up its mind?
will it be warm
no cold
warm
no cold.
hell who knows from one day to the next.

Here in Virginia, we NEVER have snow any more, and we just had our first family cookout Sunday–it was 60 degrees. And our summers, always hot as the hinges of heck, are even more unbearable. It’s confusing.

Yep, we’ve been colder than we should except for this week when we were warmer than we should be. Kind of crazy.

Great book to read if you want to understand climate change: The Weather Makers by Timmothy Flannery. He goes into real studies done by real scientists around the world. Their findings are amazing… especially for the Atlantic Ocean… not good. Basic gist, weather will be more up and down and all around crazy… Here in Seattle we have had el nino and la nina more times in the last two decades than in the 6 decades prior… That is one of the factors causing us to have so much snow right now.
