We got a baby
August 7, 2008 – 8:53 amCJ really, really, REALLY wants a baby.
He talks about it all the time. He’s obsessed with pregnant women, pointing them out to me on magazines and commercials and in public places.
We’re at the library when CJ spies a little girl holding her baby sister. “Mom!” he whispers, “she’s HOLDING it!”
He watches for a bit longer and then says to himself, “I’m going to hold it like that, when I have one of those babies.”
So yesterday I finally broke down.
I got CJ a baby.
We did it the easy way… we bought one at Target.
CJ couldn’t be happier.
And we’re sleeping through the night.

You know a baby that new really should be in a rear facing car seat. That is too funny. I just can’t belive it worked!

Wow…no allnighters, no diaper blow outs, no sore nipples and round the clock demand feedings!
He’s too cute!
So has he named the baby yet?

You really should have bought him one of those ones that never stops crying unless you feed it or change it etc. The ones they use in Middle School Health classes now. That would have changed his opinion of wanting one of ‘them’ really quickly!

But you KNOW if I did that that *I* would end up changing and feeding the stupid thing to STOP THE CRYING!!! and then where would I be?! ;)

My Parker’s baby? The BEST baby ever. You only have to feed him once every 3 months and change his diaper twice a year. He never cries and I don’t have to pay for college.
I should have had more like Peter.

HAHA! I’m glad he was satisfied with a baby doll. This way he can take care of it. I bet he would have changed his mind about wanting a baby when it started crying all of the time!
I have an 8 week old, and my husband loves him so much that he is ALREADY talking about having another one. soon. I wonder if a baby doll would pacify him.

He is 8 now and thankfully…. is out of the pink stage!

Before our second son was born we got him a baby doll so that he could have his baby and I could have my baby. That way he could mimic what I was doing and wouldn’t feel left out.
He lost interest in that baby doll almost overnight… but he hasn’t lost interest in his baby brother!

you know, all those times my daughter said “my brudder will sit dere” at costco, i not ONCE thought of doing that. i actually went and had a danged brother for her.
and now we have to keep him.
i guess that’s okay, we’re used to him now.
could have done with a less obstinate one, though…even if he is cute…

My son’s “baby” was named “Pomm” and she had to go everywhere with him until his little sister was born.
My husband tried to get him to like GI Joe instead, and he still did. He just needed a baby to take care of.
