Marriage in real life
August 17, 2008 – 9:51 pmBefore I got married, I had a lot of ideas about how marriage would be.
Most of which turned out to be dead wrong.
Here’s a primer so that all those other innocent young girls won’t be so misled.

In real life, they never do what they’re supposed to. Even when you yell at them.
In real life, having a good laugh is more important than being romantic.
In real life, a good marriage doesn’t look like anyone else’s.
It looks like yours.

SO TRUE! You guys seem very happy! I might have to take the time to write one up, if there’s still time! Maybe tomorrow, but I have three kids, babysit one more, and my husband is on vacation starting tomorrow. Basically, I really have my work cut out for me!
Marriage is WORK…which is something you hear but don’t really believe or understand until you’re in one!

We’re coming up on 12 and it’s amazing how much you grow to really and truly love your spouse. I thought that I loved him before, but it’s nothing compared to how I feel about him now.

How cute are you two. I love those pictures. What is the deal with the funny faces and pictures thing. My hubs does the exact same thing. It’s so annoying, especially for a scrapbooker like me. Congrats on 11 years.

Sweet post. I know that my hubby and I often laugh at one another and say, “yep…you married me and now this is the rest of your life.” =)
That’s okay. If we didn’t have one another, no one else may want either of us. =)

I realized when I did my post that I too do not have any cute pictures of us. When I showed hubby my choice he said ” Dude, could you have picked a geekier picture??” Yeah, if you didn’t look like such a cheese ball all the time!! ha ha Loved you photos!!

I thought bout writing a new post, but found revisiting one I’d previously written about marriage was okay. Because proof that everyone’s marriage is different is as good as any advice I could give on what marriage is really like beyond movies and fairy tales.
