Tonight I am putting CJ to bed. He’s almost asleep, all snuggled against me. He smells so sweet and his hair is soft against my skin. I am overtaken by a feeling of tenderness.
“CJ, I love you,” I say.
CJ looks up at me through sleepy eyes and says, “Mommy, I love you SOOOOO much!”
My heart swells with happiness. “I love you SOOOO much!”
“I love you much-er,” He tells me.
“I love you MUCH much-er,” I give him a big kiss on the forehead to emphasize my point.
Is there anything better than loving someone from the very depths of your soul and knowing they love you back?
These are the moments.

There is nothing better. Recently my 4 year old said “Mummy I LIKE you.” It wasn’t quite LOVE but it was said with enough feeling to suggest she could not live without me and gave me that warm fuzzy feeling. The she ruined it by asking for chocolate!

I believe those are the moments that fuel are soul. Because without that fuel we would surely lose our minds when bring on their temper tantrums.. :)

Yesterday, out of the blue, Wild Thing said, “Mommy, you’re the best mommy.” Sigh.

Don’t you just wish you could bottle up those moments and save them for later? My son recently said he loved me a bagoogle… Not sure what that meant but it made me happy.

Oh what a little PEANUT! Magoo and I had a moment like that last night too. He was all snuggled up to me and I thought he was asleep when he suddenly popped up and whispered in my ear, “I love you mama!” AGH! My heart stopped.

So very touching. This is what gets us through the parenting horrors. Good for CJ for feeding your spirit.
