I’ve been remiss not to give you all the juicy details of my 30th birthday weekend.
Ok, to be quite honest, I’m probably not going to give you the really juicy details.
I’ll leave that to your imagination.
First of all, thank you so much to all of you who left comments here. I can’t tell you how delighted and humbled I am to hear from the people who read this blog. Without you, I’d be having a lot less fun… and I might even have a cleaner house. But who wants that?! (NOT ME!)
So… about those juicy details.
I woke up to the smell of homemade french toast fresh cooked by my sis. AND a newly cleaned car strewn with rose petals (this is a BIG DEAL if you’ve ever seen the state of my car). And it doesn’t get more juicy than the BIG JUICY STEAK I ate at Daniel’s Broiler. Mmmmmm. THEN Jay handed over a shiny blingy new watch to replace my $10 Timex. Loving it. But that was not all. Oh no, that was DEFINITELY not all.
Next we drove north for “dessert”. Of course I was skeptical… “Where are we GOING?!” I shouted, “There’s NOTHING north of 85th!”
But it turns out there is very much of something north of 85th… in the form of a SURPRISE PARTY!
And it was so surprising!
(this is what I look like when I’m surprised and teary and overwhelmed with being THIRTY…)
And so I saw out the first day of my 3rd decade in the company of great friends. What could be better?
How about a SURPRISE VISIT to a waterfront spa hotel to stay overnight in a deluxe room and wake up the next morning to enjoy a SURPRISE massage and facial?!
Oh yeah I am so not making this up.
All in all it was the BEST 30th birthday I could have asked for.
(and very surprising)
Unfortunately this is where the GOOD surprises end and the BIG HAIRY SCARY surprises that accompany the big 3-oh begin.
I’ll tell you more about that tomorrow.
