My sister and I have a long-standing tradition* wherein we go see ridiculously romantic movies and ooh and aah and giggle and weep our little heads off. It’s a good tradition, and one that I highly recommend. Every woman needs a break from REALITY once in a while!
Last night the movie of choice was Enchanted… you know, the one where the fairytale people somehow end up in the streets of Manhattan? That was all the plot that I knew of going in, but I’d seen good reviews, liked the preview, and (MOST IMPORTANTLY) I knew it starred a certain actor whom I hold in VERY HIGH REGARD.
(The Academy we are NOT)
And so we went.
In the car after the movie, our conversation went something like this:
Me: (big sigh of contentment)
Sis: That was SO GOOD!
Me: I know!
Sis: It was SO funny! SO romantic!
Me: Ok, enough about the movie. Let’s talk about Dr. McDreamy. I mean, after seeing this movie it is OBVIOUS to me that he should be in a REAL prince movie. Like… like, what’s the one with Drew Barrymore?
Sis: Ever After?! (she squeals) I LOVE that movie! It’s totally one of my FAVORITES!
Me: I know! So can you imagine DR. MCDREAMY as the prince in that kind of movie?
Sis: Wow.
Me: Yeah. WOW.
Some actors are born to play action heroes (can anybody say HARRISON FORD?). Some actors are born to play spies (Sean Connery, for example). And SOME actors are born to play princes. Enter Dr. McDREAMY!
I need to see Dr. McDreamy in a prince movie. Who do I talk to about this?
I’ve even taken the liberty of casting the role of princess…
*By “long-standing tradition,” I mean we have done this twice… once in February and once in December. But we PLAN to do it much more often.

Your completely totally skewed movie reviewing aside, I would go to a Dempsey-filled flick any ol’ day of the week.
Did you see Freedom Writers? He’s in that, though he’s kind of a dick in it (I KNOW, hard to imagine).

You always make me smile. :-)
He’s not really my type (I know, I;m a freak!) but he does look yummy in that picture you chose.
I don’t have a sister and this post makes me want one even more. So glad I had 3 girls. They are all dying to go see this movie, so I think I’ll tag along. I like crying. :-)

Parker wants to go see this movie. Glad to know it’s a kid’s movie that won’t make me want to bring forks to stick in my eye.

I saw this and was enthralled my McDreamy too! He was so stinking cute in that movie and I wanted to be the princess the whole time.

Sounds good to me! They should definitely cast as the princess. Your photo is proof that you would be perfect!

Hahaha!! I have heard some great things about the movie, though I’m not a fan of the Mcdreamy guy. I think I’ll have to wait for DVD, so I can watch it with my daughter. :)
And, I love your pretty princess dress!! :P

Oh! I loved Enchanted and absolutely adore McDreamy. My heart truly aches for him! Those looks he gives his leading ladies. I wish he would look at me that way! You would make a great princess and I would love to see you both in a prince/princess movie! I just wish I lived closer so I could crash your romantic movie outing. How about we meet in the middle. Oklahoma? Is that in the middle?

I’ve been wanting to take Anna to that! You guys are funny. BTW, I love Ever After too!
