Mama’s got a robot
and she’s feelin’ oh so fine
No more sweaty vacuuming
and yet her floors still shine
Mama’s got a robot
it’s her little whirling friend
it drives around and sucks stuff up
and man it makes her grin.
Mama’s got a robot
and the family gathers ’round
to watch in wide-eyed wonder
as the cleaning feats astound
Mama’s got a robot
so forget the diamond ring
She’s got a ‘bot to do her chores
She’ll do without the bling
Mama’s got a robot
now it seems she’s got the sillies
she wanders round a calling-out,
(it gives us all the willies)
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMBA!
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMBA!
Daddy’s feeling worried
cause it seems he’s been replaced
mama sleeps with roomba
in a weird kind of embrace
CJ, he feels angry too
cause all his fun has ended
mama just plays with the bot
it makes him feel offended
Mama’s friends, they shake their heads
to show they disapprove
but mama knows they’re jealous
cause they don’t got robot groove
Some women wear the sparkles
some women take to drink
some women wear expensive shoes
or scents that makes them stink
this mama, though, has just one thing
she calls a slight obsession
it’s not the normal type of thing
to be a loved possession
I GOT A BOT!
this mama cries,
it fits beneath the sofa!
it vacuums when I’m in the bath
it sucks up all from all ovah!
Why did I wait so very long
to buy my special friend?
now that he’s home it’s clear to see
the fun will never end.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMBA!

Did they send you one for free?????
October 12, 2007 at 10:11 am
Jenny’s world domination begins now. With Roomba.
October 12, 2007 at 10:15 am
Okay. We’ll watch you closely so we can do an intervention if necessary. I’m not sure if you would need a writing intervention or a bot intervention……..
(teeheehee)

LOL! I’m jealous! Do you just sit and watch it?? I would…
October 12, 2007 at 10:24 am
put it to a beat. Your man can play guitar and your boy can play drums.
It could be a Solid Gold hit!

October 12, 2007 at 12:24 pm
Bwahahahaha!
I’m one of those who’d rather have the bling. Shallow, I know. Or smart? Because which one will appreciate vs depreciate? Hmmmm.
October 12, 2007 at 1:29 pm
I am so jealous. But, happy for you.
October 12, 2007 at 1:34 pm
You are absolutely bananas…and absolutely clever too! What a great way to kick off my Friday :~)
October 12, 2007 at 3:41 pm
Oooh neat.
Maybe if you write a really stellar review it will be spotted and the IRobot/Roomba folks will offer you one as a giveaway. Then you can share the love.
October 12, 2007 at 4:44 pm
Hahahahaha…. Lurrve the poem!

October 13, 2007 at 8:36 pm
I have one too… simply the best! Unfortunate that my boys are almost more afraid of the Roomba than the regular vacuum.
October 13, 2007 at 11:22 pm
congratulations on you bot.
Mine is in the form of a dog. :)
October 14, 2007 at 7:52 am
robots are so exciting!
October 15, 2007 at 7:13 am
So you BOUGHT one?? I thought for sure they would send you one for free!! You are a very talented poet, too. Not everyone can write such an inspiring poem about a household gadget, yet YOU pulled it off!
October 15, 2007 at 2:04 pm
Hee hee hee.
Fabulous.
I would love one of those AB.
Have you given it a name?
October 15, 2007 at 2:25 pm
I totally want one!
October 16, 2007 at 3:37 pm
Can you give us an update on whether the thing is actually doing a good job on your floors? We’re about to rip up all the carpet and put down engineered hardwood. I’d totally go for a Roomba if they work well.
