In the misty moonlight

I woke up this morning feeling sooooooooooooo tired.

I drank some coffee, but it didn’t help. I looked in the mirror and almost didn’t recognize myself. Swollen, baggy, bloodshot eyes. Hair sticking out at all angles.

Getting dressed was a task of epic proportion. I barely stayed awake on the drive to and from preschool.

Sooooooooooo tired. What to DO?

A walk! A walk will help!

30 minutes later my sister is at my door and we are on our way, arms swinging in the bright sunshine.

One mile into our walk, sis looks at me and gasps, “This seems like it’s taking FOREVER.”

I have to concur.

Another mile in and we are both miserable.

“I’m sooooooo tired!” she tells me.

“Me too.” I say.

To myself I think, Hmmm, this is rather odd.

Once I’m home the phone rings… it’s my mother. “How are you?” she asks me.

I groan. “I am sooooooooooooo tired.”

“You too?”

Turns out mom is also soooooooo tired.

This is very, VERY strange. And suddenly, the little hairs on the back of my neck start to prickle, and I have a SUSPICION.

To my computer! I call up my google home page and THIS is what I see:

JUST as I suspected.

The moon is to blame. For the excessive tiredness. And the baggy eyes. And the four peppermint patties I just ate.

THE MOON!

I am a helpless victim, caught in its cosmic pull.

AWWWOOOOOOOO!!!

That’s right, there are just SIX days left until Halloween. Don’t go away… I have MORE FUN IN STORE!
