DE-NI-AL

October 22, 2007 – 5:42 am

I think I’m in denial. SERIOUS denial.

I quit my job ostensibly to have more time to get things done, and somehow I find myself too busy to get anything done. Sounds like its an oxymoron, but it’s not, let me assure you.

If you happen to be in Seattle, and you notice a woman running around like a chicken with her head cut off… that would be me. Hi!

Ok this is a MAJOR digression, but I just have to tell you… I was re-reading this before posting it and noticed that that last sentence said “if you notice a woman running around with her head cut off… that would be me.” Which had me SERIOUSLY cracking up (it’s late, ok?!) which made me need to do THIS…

ANYWAY… Back to my point…

It’s not enough that I have two blogs. Ok three. I started a top-secret third one for family ONLY with pictures and really boring updates.

And then there’s the epic school search for 2008/2009. MUST CANVASS EVERY KINTEGARDEN IN SEARCH FOR ULTIMATE PERFECTION!

Oh and the holidays. Those are coming up now too.

Then there’s the consulting work that I can’t stop saying yes to, SMACK! (I just slapped myself upside the head).

Oh and the great house re-siding project of 2007. Ok, who am I kidding, and 2008. And odds are it’ll still be going on in 2009.

Oh, the list goes on and on and on ad nauseum.

AND YET I am excited and gleeful to be starting TWO MORE PROJECTS !

(denial)

The first is a column on blogging… called (wait for it)… On Blogging. Get it? Well, yeah it’s obvious actually. On Seattle Mom Blogs. Come check it out! Leave me a comment! Don’t let me fizzle into oblivion alone! Oh, and while you’re there, be sure to check the other columns out too. There’s some really great ones.

Second, there’s NaNoWriMo. No, that’s not my brain shutting down. It’s really a thing! National Novel Writing Month! Where you write an entire month in 30 days! I am SO doing it!

Can you hear it?

DENIAL!!!

Heaven help us, I just might be headed for a meltdown.

But it promises to be an entertaining ride!

LOLs, that photo is seriously awesome! Love it.

I saw NaNoWriMo, and wanted to participate…but I’ve never been able to post everyday for an entire month (even during the summer when I had more time for my blog!).

Hey, congrats on you new gig! I can never say no to freelance work, either. If I don’t say yes, they will never call me again and I’ll end up peddling tupperware in some pyramid marketing scheme when I’m finally able to go back to work full time.

The chicken line is mo’ funnier every time I think about it because, really, how would we know it was you? Without the head, I mean. OK. Bye.

I am worn out just reading this. I have about 5 hours worth of work I need to do to update an on-line store for a client…I dread it to the point that I am considering cleaning the kitchen floor Cinderella style…hands and knees with bucket of soapy water.

Oi..I feel like such a slacker.

YES. OMG. YES. I just stayed up until midnight (baby gets up at 3 and 6, nice) to get organized because of said chicken-beheading. So yaya, we’ll jog headless together.

Sadly, I’ve had to let a lot of the blog things go. Makes me sad…

You’re not alone! In November? My husband has to go to Phoenix for two weeks on business? Leaving me alone with our three children? Plus it’s National Blog Posting Month a/k/a NaBloPoMo? Plus I have reviews for Parent Bloggers, Mothertalk, and more? And I will probably be completely insane by Thanksgiving?

    yeah.

I think my head flies off at least once a day. If I add anything else to my life I might just implode, but I keep right on doing it! Is there something wrong with me?

I hear you on this one. I was just thinking today about losing my head with all the running. Some days are crazier than others but I just pray for these few minutes a day that I get to myself and have no obligations to anyone….it really is only a few minutes : (

I hear you…in the next few weeks I’m doing NaNoWriMo as well as the novel in a month thingy (can’t remember the acronym, I’m too busy), chairing my daughter’s preschool auction all by myself because my co-chair isn’t doing well (depression/anxiety), involved in two fitness challenges, my daughter’s birthday is coming up (and oh yeah mine as well), have some photo jobs lined up. I’m sure I’m forgetting something. I blog to forget.
