A big idea and a whole lot of work

A lot of crazy things happened in Chicago. Some of them I’ve shared, and some I probably never will. But only one of those crazy things extended all the way from the Windy City right back into my little life here in Seattle.

Kathryn, Eve, and I decided to start something. Something big. Something exciting.

Inspired by the rush of BlogHer- the relationships, the community, the sharing of knowledge and ideas, the laughter and the being surrounded by other women like us- we decided that Seattle needed the same sort of community. A place where the mom bloggers of Seattle could come together to share stories and ideas, lend moral support, gossip, and have a great time. An organization that would work to promote Seattle mom bloggers, get their message out, and grow their success.

And so, after a few late nights, a whole lot of phone calls, and several days of being a VERY NEGLECTFUL wife and mother, Seattle Mom Blogs was born.

If you’re a mom in the Seattle area, we want you to join! Now!

And even if you’re NOT in the Seattle area, we’re hosting a “Post of the Month” contest. Anyone can nominate. Anyone can win. But only the elite members of Seattle Mom Blogs can vote. We’re sort of like the Academy… or the electoral college… or something…

So far what I’ve learned from this process is that,

1. I love to design buttons. Love, love LOVE it!! Seriously, I think I’ve found my calling.
2. After three nights in a row of less than 4 hours of sleep, I’m not a very nice person. Oh, but I already knew that.
3. WordPress IS better than Blogger. I finally get it.

So that’s it… our big idea. A lot of whole work. Come support me in my endeavor! Pretty please?
