There are times when I’m reminded just how good I have it.
Like tonight, for instance.
A delectably delicious dinner followed by fresh berries and home-made whipped cream for dessert. Mmmmm good. Sorry, Campbell’s, you have nothin’ on this!
Marvin Gaye playing on the radio… Let’s get it on.
And then there’s the conversation. Oh how I do love the conversation.
Me: I realized this morning that I really am READY for a few days away. I think it will do me good.
Jay: Why do you think I agreed that you could go?
Me: Well, because you’re basically a great guy.
Jay: I thought you were gonna say because you had me over a barrel.
Me: No… you’re awesome. You’re… Director of my LOVE.
CJ: (to me) You’re my love.
Me: awwww… that’s so sweet!
CJ: You’re a princess. And you’re married.
Jay: Who’s she married to, CJ?
CJ: … me.
Jay: No, she’s married to ME.
CJ: I know. I’m pretending.
Me: But we all love each other, so it’s kind of like we’re all married.
Jay: Don’t confuse the issue, Jen.
Me: We’re a FAMILY. Family’s love each other.
CJ: Love is nice.
Me: Yes it is.
CJ: But only girls love.
Me: No, boys love too. Like daddy loves mommy.
CJ: and I love you, mommy.
Me: RIGHT. Love is beautiful.
Jay: Makes gagging and choking noises
CJ: Love is beautiful?
Me: Yes.
Yessiree, with these two in my life, how could I be anything BUT blissful?

oTell Jay it’s called the Electra complex and the kid will eventually get over it. I think CJ is so sweet. There is something special with your first born and you. (You may only have one. I wanted 6 but God had other plans~perhaps so I could be half-sane versus not at all sane.)Have a great time at BlogHer(I’m so green with envy~just cuz you’ll be w/o family for a while weekend!!)! Hugs.

That is too cute. They aren’t always that adorable, are they? Is it possible they are trying to charm you into staying at home rather than going to Chicago?

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! SO cute! Don’t you just love the crush your son has on you? I hold on to mine, dreading the day he becomes a teenager.

Funny pic of the hubby!
I love that my little guys love me and say it so much. I’ll be so sad when they hit the “too cool” for mom stage. :(

My youngest, a girl, is ALWAYS trying to convince me to marry her. Because she loves me. Doesn’t matter how many times I explain to her I can’t marry her because I’m her mom and I’m ALREADY married to her dad!
Lovely dessert! Looks so cool and refreshing!

Boys!!
So I haven’t heard from you. Are you going to join us for dinner? I hope so. Look forward to meeting you in person.
