One of the things that I like to do in my spare time is come up with ways to make people’s lives easier while making heaps of money. Although honestly I’d be happy if I just fulfilled the latter…
Clearly I haven’t happened on EXACTLY the right idea yet (hence all the moaning and groaning about having to clean my own house). However; ONE of the ideas that I dreamt up (while wishing I knew of a good dentist and bemoaning the fact that I can NEVER figure out which preschool is best) was a social networking website for parents. This would be a place where parents could connect and share ideas, opinions, experiences, etc. And EVEN BETTER it would enable parents in the same community to connect.
Tra-la! Just like most of my great ideas… someone has done it! And done it well too. If you
haven’t already mamasourced… you really should give it a look. www.mamasource.com
Because really, who’s gonna give you better advice than another mother? WHO???
That’s what I thought.

Great idea, unscrupulous tactics though. If you don’t mind getting phished and spammed, join Mamasource. If you think all of your friends would love to get mass e-mails from you about a mother’s website, join mamasource.
If you’d like to maintain some of those friendships though, join another mama site that doesn’t treat your confidentiality with such disdain. There are tons others that don’t use your “private” log ins and e-mail addresses to advertise.
No banner ads? How DOES mamasource get paid? Think about that next time you get a mom-directed spam mail…
