Love was in the air…
June 11, 2007 – 6:48 pmIt seems like everybody had a birthday party this weekend… or last weekend… or has one planned in the near future. Which makes me think (after doing some quick math involving counting back approx 10 months), what’s so special about mid-September??
Creative-Type Dad secretly wants to dress up as an Elvis impersonator for his daughter’s 2nd birthday (he’s just not admitting it… help me convince him!) Don’t worry, we won’t step on your blue suede shoes!
Brillig’s son Scooby is turning two… and talk about a crazy birth story!
Stephanie of Creature Bug made a VERY cool butterfly oreo cake for Sydney’s 3rd party, (I’m not gonna show CJ, cause I KNOW he’d be jealous).
Eve of Good Enough commemorates her son’s 6th birthday with this sweet post. (Which makes me think… am I a bad mom for blogging about the death of a squirrel in my son’s 4th birthday post? Thoughts to ponder…)
Nola had her baby!! A sweet little girl that she’s calling Sun! Congratulations!! I wouldn’t call it a party per-se, but it is exciting!
AND I happen to know that Kimberly’s little peanut has a birthday coming up in just two weeks…
And last, but never least, my own dear CJ turned four. Well, turns four on Tuesday. After thoroughly confusing him by trying to explain that his party was on Saturday but his birthday was Tuesday, I finally gave up and now we’re pretending his birthday was Saturday. I think I just might be the world’s worst explainer. But I make a mean cupcake!
Did I miss someone? I think I missed someone. Tell me if I missed someone.
Happy Birthday to all the kiddies. And moms, you better watch your back in September… since it does appear to be a magical time for conception. And by “back” I mean, well… you know.
There, you’ve been warned.

Mid-September…when summer’s heat finally begins to ebb away and you actually feel like cuddling again. =P

Sarah’s Middle Son (Trenches of Mommyhood) celebrated his 3rd birthday too this past weekend. She also blogged about having the party on a day other than the actual birthday.
Having had a December baby and experienced a bunch of sickos wanting to hold my baby in the middle of flu season ….. maybe it has something to do with wanting an early summer birth …. sunshine … people are generally healthy …. who knows?

Both my kids are born in December, so of course everyone teases us, “What happened in March?”
Now that I think about it, my birthday’s in March! Hehehe…

Both of mine were conceived on vacation. (New Orleans, and then NYC)
We’re (finally) taking another vacation in September. Just the two of us. Clearly I must be vigilant where the birth control is concerned!

I was just thinking that (about September) when I was reading about all these birthday parties going on.
Thinking back for us…hmmm… maybe because it was the end of summer? The school year was starting again, and for us teachers that’s a pretty busy (and therefore un-amorous) time. That’s my best guess.

“And by “back” I mean, well… you know.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh my goodness, I think I just peed a little. SO funny.
And yeah… I’m not sure what it was about Sept–(technically late August, in my case, as I recall…)
And I know exactly what you mean about trying to explain that a party is on a different day from the actual birthday. Hahahaha. I have had that exact conversation so many times!
Happy birthday to CJ tomorrow!!!

Wow- big 4. That seems so old in child years.
If Elvis were around, I bet you’d get a caddy.

Awww I love cupcakes! I didn’t have time to make any for my son so that is quite an accomplishment!
He had a store bought cake…but at least it was pretty!
