We were driving north to the in-laws this weekend when…
***Me: Look! (pointing out the window) A bald eagle!Jay: Where?
Me: Oh wait, never mind… it’s a pigeon.
Jay: Riiiight… because bald eagles and pigeons are so visually similar as to be almost indistinguishable.
(Yes, he really talks like that)
Maybe I need more carrots in my diet. They’re supposed to help with your vision, right?

The problem was probably mental rather than visual. Your eyes took in the image just fine, but your brain had trouble processing it correctly. Can happen when you’re tired.
I learned a lot when Neil was at Optometry school. =P And yes, carrots do help. A little.
