Saturday the 14th turns out to be rather unlucky

Friday the 13th wasn’t such a bad day. In fact, in my list of days, it was actually rather good.

Today, on the other hand, isn’t shaping up so well.

First, my husband wakes up complaining of general malaise. AGAIN. And, not to complain but how many weeks in a row is this going to happen? Because, to complain, I am SICK AND TIRED of being a one-woman show.

Second, we’re out of milk (something I learned AFTER pouring my cereal in a bowl). No problem, never one to be ruffled by the little things, I decide to eat my Frosted Mini Wheats dry. I take a handful, bite down, and UGH. Overpowering mold flavor. So I check the brand-new box (Costco-sized) and see that the sell-by date is MARCH 2006. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? They should be ashamed of themselves. I guess it’s Whopper eggs for breakfast…

Furthermore, my house is a mess and the magic cleaning elves haven’t showed up yet to clean it. I have a sinking feeling they’re not coming.

    Any idea what I can do with an excessive amount of ‘past their best’ bananas! At least if we eat all our bananas we won’t suffer the way you will if you eat all those eggs!

    What is it with husbands and “General Malaise”? Oh, wait, hang on here (thumbing through thesaurus), could it be LAZINESS!!

    I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now (thanks to “Playgroups Are No Place for Children”) and thought it time to delurk.

    Moldy cereal? That is the WORST! I am not a morning person and that would have ruined my whole day. In fact, it would have caused me to go scream at Mr. Malaise to go get me some decent breakfast.
